What is brain rewiring?
It often comes as a surprise to people to learn that we ‘wire’ new neural pathways in our brains from movements, and then when this is pondered, it becomes more obvious.
Practise is another way of saying ‘hardwiring the brain’. The saying ‘Practise makes perfect’ is very true. The brain controls what the body does. Learning to ride a bicycle is tricky until the skill is acquired.
During the exercise process you may expect mood swings, and apparent regression at times from the child. This is a positive sign that the brain is trying out new ways to function, and the child is struggling with unusual over load. These periods will not last long.
It is amazing to watch the quick progress achieved by children as they learn to do the exercises. Symptoms start to disappear from their lives. In the first two weeks of doing these exercises one child learnt to swim, became more relaxed and noticeably less anxious, he learnt to ‘track’ with his eyes and became adept at the movements required for the exercises.
